I recently bought a few of the new “Root It” sponges which are highly recommended for seeds and cuttings. I gave them a try and was very impressed.
After a week or so, roots were growing out of the sides of the sponges indicating that seedlings love them!
Having saved the seeds from my best Red Alert tomatoes last season, I decided to sow a few seeds last month (about 200 actually) and use the sponges.
Red Alert
One of the best tasting cherry varieties available
I also sowed some Tumbling Tom Yellow and Black Cherry varieties in the sponges and they are now desperate for a new home!
Tumbling Tom Yellow
You’ll lose count of the number you pick!
These are all pot ready plants, to be planted (with sponge) directly into a small pot containing potting/multi-purpose compost.
Black Cherry
They taste dark and delicious!
I’m selling five for £4.99 plus p+p, but to Tomato Club Members it’s five for £3.99 plus p+p (UK only).

Sorry Nick, no room this year but thanks for the offer. I have been given a few seeds of white tomatoes, Called Beaute Blanche. Supposed to be a rare French tomato according to the net.
At present they are 15 cm tall and are looking good. If you want some seeds at the end of the season then let me know.
All the best from France,
John Ferrier
